Oregon Ducks vs. Arizona Wildcats – Home Team Doesn’t Have Support
Tonight the Oregon Ducks Football team faces the Arizona Wildcats in Tucson. Arizona doesn’t even come close to Oregon’s on-field talent– Even the local Tucson newspaper agrees:
For Arizona football, things may get worse before they get better. Trying to snap its seven game losing streak against teams in the BCS, the Wildcats host No. 10 Oregon tonight at Arizona Stadium. However, don’t expect the Cats to win their second game of the 2011 season unless the defense can limit Oregon’s high-powered offense and the offense can match score for score.
Granted, Arizona is not the most difficult team to beat in the Pac-12. One would think, however, that a home-grown newspaper would give their college football team a little bit of support…at least in the first two sentences of an article.
On a positive note, the Tucson Citizen had more great things to say about the Oregon Ducks.
The Ducks are going to score points. They are just too good and fast not to. The important key is not to give them a ton of opportunities. They run the ball better than any team in the Pac-12 and as long as Chip Kelly remains head coach that trend doesn’t seem to be going away any time soon.
This is a fact. Oregon runs the ball better than any other team in the Pac-12. It’s always entertaining watching the Ducks football games on television because they are so fast. For instance, last week’s game against Missouri State they scored in 14 seconds. You don’t see that every day in college football. The article’s writer, Victor Rodriguez goes on to say…
It’s important to remember that Arizona’s schedule of Oklahoma State, Stanford, Oregon and USC in consecutive games is arguably the most challenging four-game stretch any team has to play this year.
OK, I’ll give the Wildcats a break. They are playing a tough schedule. Tonight’s game might be interesting if the Wildcats step up and give Oregon a run for their money. While it’s still fun to watch the Ducks score touchdown after touchdown, it’s more enjoyable to see them win a hard fight. Here’s to hoping Arizona brings their game to the field tonight.
